In response to the worldwide increase in extra large waste water projects, KSB SE & Co. KGaA, Frankenthal, Germany, has significantly extended its range of large dry-installed waste water pumps. The pump manufacturer has developed an extra 15 sizes to add to its Sewatec pump series.
KSB is presenting a new pump monitoring system called KSB Guard. Networked vibration and temperature sensors fitted directly to the pump make availability at plant level transparent for the first time. The system ensures that changes in the operating behaviour of the machine are detected at an early stage, and maintenance work can be better planned, without having to be on site with the pump.
KSB is presenting a new maintenance aid for waste water pumps. Sewa Slide is a movable support that makes the task of opening the pump a simple one-person job, allowing measures such as impeller inspection or the removal of fibres and solids. Cranes or lifting equipment are not required.
The KSB Group introduces the newly created online pump acceptance testing.
The 4EB series is a mechanical seal specially developed for large pumps handling drinking water and service water.
Among other things, KSB presents the newly developed concept of a maintenance workstation for hygienic food pumps only. The so-called LSA (Life Sciences Applications) hygiene workstation is equipped with stainless steel surfaces, work benches that are easy to clean, and tools and clothing for use in this workstation only.
The KSB Group has supplied 39 pumps manufactured to API 610 standard to the Sultanate of Oman. The pump sets operate in a so-called two-way pipeline which was put into service at the end of October 2017 and can be used for various petrochemical products.
In the first nine months of 2017, demand in KSB’s strategically prioritised industry and water / waste water markets was largely fuelled by new investments and replacement needs.
Dr Stephan Timmermann (56) will become Chairman of the Board of Management of KSB Aktiengesellschaft with effect from 13 November 2017.
