Sulzer is launching a new end-to-end licensed technology – CAPSULTM – for the continuous manufacturing of polycaprolactone (PCL), a biodegradable polyester often used in the packaging, textile, agricultural and horticultural industries.

With no flat or downhill route available between communities and the wastewater treatment facilities that serve them, reliable infrastructure requires some creative thinking.

FS – Fueling Sustainability, located near Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso, is the first corn-only ethanol plant in Brazil. The phase 1 production started in 2017 with an initial capacity of 250 million liters per year.

Sulzer is contributing to decarbonizing the energy industry with the supply of a custom VNY molten salt pump to the Molten Salts Storage (MOSS) project in Denmark.

Sulzer separation technology and flow equipment have been selected to enable biomethanol production at the new Veolia plant in Äänekoski, Finland. The separation technology will be integrated with ANDRITZ’s KraftanolTM biomethanol purification concept.

Sulzer Services recently performed critical repairs on a completely failed 100-year-old 5MW turbine in West Java. The turbine repair served to both restore the renewable energy supply to the local community and wider grid and reduce expected downtime for the customer by seven months.

Sulzer is expanding its water business in the USA: this September it commissioned operations in Portland, Oregon, where it is assembling and testing large water pumps.
