Due to consolidation of the Schuler Group acquired in February of this year, international technology Group Andritz saw solid development in sales and order intake in a challenging economic environment in the third quarter of 2013. However, the EBITA declined substantially, mainly as a result of financial provisions in the Pulp & Paper business area.

Andritz Hydro, part of international technology Group Andritz, has received an order as part of a consortium from Kalehan Enerji, Turkey, for supply, installation, and commissioning (scheduled for 2016) of three 235 megavolt ampere generators for the new hydropower plant Upper Kaleköy. The order has a value of approximately 30 million euros.

Andritz Hydro, part of international technology Group Andritz, has received an order from Kraftwerke Oberhasli AG (KWO), Switzerland, to supply two Pelton turbines and one synchronous generator as part of the project to extend Innertkirchen 1 and Handeck 2 hydropower stations.

Andritz Hydro has received an order from Verbund, the leading Austrian electrical energy supplier and one of the biggest hydropower generation companies in Europe, to modernize the Ybbs-Persenbeug run-of-river power plant (total capacity: 236 megawatts), which went into operation in 1959.

Andritz Hydro has received an order from Nalcor Energy to supply four 209 megawatt (MW) Kaplan turbines and four synchronous generators for the new Muskrat Falls hydropower plant in Labrador, Canada. Commissioning is scheduled for 2017.

International technology Group Andritz received a contract for reconstruction and rehabilitation of two Francis units (178 MW each) for the Inga 2 hydropower plant, DR Congo. The contract value of this project, which is being supported by financing of the World Bank, is approximately 45 MEUR. Commissioning is scheduled for 2015.

Advanced Design Technology, Ltd., or ADT is pleased to announce that Andritz Hydro AG applied TURBOdesign1 – 3D inverse design code – for the design of a compact Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) achieving higher efficiency and cavitation performance.

International technology Group Andritz has signed a contract to acquire Ritz Pumpenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, based in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, including various affiliates.
