Andritz to Supply Generators For New Upper Kaleköy Hydropower Station

Technology group Voith is set to supply equipment for the large-scale hydropower plant Caculo Cabaça in Angola, West Africa. The order comprises all electrical and mechanical equipment, including the installation of four Francis turbines with an output of 530 MW each, an additional Francis turbine with an output of 52 MW, generators, control and auxiliary systems and a customized training concept.

Dr. Tobias Keitel will be appointed President & CEO of Voith Hydro and a member of the Corporate Board of Management of the Voith Group effective November 1, 2022. He succeeds Uwe Wehnhardt, who will continue to be available to the company as Senior Advisor.

International technology group ANDRITZ received an order from Greenko MP01 IREP Private Limited, for the electromechanical works at the Gandhi Sagar pumped storage project (1,440 MW) located in Kheemla block village in Neemuch district in Madhya Pradesh, India.

In the first six months (10/1/2021 to 3/31/2022) of the current fiscal year 2021/22, the Voith Group saw strong performance in a market environment characterized by global crises.

While it has been possible to control other technical installations from a smartphone, this has not previously been an option in hydropower. Voith, in conjunction with digital specialist Ray Sono, has now developed a solution to achieve this. The use of real-time data and intelligent analysis permits faster and better decisions.
