Parker Hannifin has introduced two new ranges of AC inverter drives that meet the latest requirements for the industrial market. Fitting between Parker’s existing AC10 and AC30 series, the AC15 and AC20 provide a rich set of features for a mid-range inverter family without the cost of ‘system drive’ features that are not always required. These include an onboard webserver, SD card slot, ‘Fire Mode’, two independent PID loops and multi-stage sequencing functions.

Watts Water Technologies, Inc. announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Bradley Corporation (“Bradley”) for $303 million, subject to customary adjustments. The net transaction value is approximately $268 million after adjusting for the estimated net present value of expected tax benefits of approximately $35 million. The transaction will be funded through cash on hand and the remainder from Watts’ existing revolving credit facility. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and necessary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Sulzer pump technology has been selected by Raízen, Brazil’s largest producer of ethanol from biomass feedstock, as a supplier for their new second-generation ethanol (E2G) processing facilities. Sulzer is supplying a range of special metallurgy, process and utility pumps to process raw materials in support of renewable biofuel production for three new facilities. Made with sugarcane waste from Raizen’s conventional bioethanol production, E2G production has potential to increase efficiency by up to 50% while reducing emissions.

Delegates at an international water industry conference learned that bearing selection plays a critical role in vertical turbine pump (VTP) performance, and that application, medium and bearing material should also be considered during pump manufacturing or refurbishment.
