Homa Pumpenfabrik GmbH, Neunkirchen-Seelscheid, has expanded the Chromatic submersible pump series by two more powerful models. They are designed for application in stationary pump sumps as well as for using as mobile emergency pump in case of overflow. Wincaps 7.0 can be used as a valuable tool for searching for the right pump required for a certain job. The program will guide you through a series of choices such as which flow-rate, maximum pressure, fluid temperature etc. the pump must sustain and based on this information, Wincaps will present a range of pumps that comply with the information provided.

VSX plans to present a new pump search engine at the Pump Users International Forum 10.-12. October 2000 in Karlsruhe. This will be an improved version of the internet pump selection system Spaix® Online. On 01.07.00, Dr. Christopher Braun took over the position of managing director of the engineering company GEA Jet Pumps GmbH in Ettlingen/Germany.

Dr. Braun started his career as managing partner of the engineering company BCR GmbH Bochum after receiving his doctorate from the Ruhr University in Bochum in 1990. In 1995 he joined Hürner Umwelttechnik GmbH as technical director and took over the position of managing director in 1996. Jörg Trefzer, who was temporary managing director of GEA Jet Pumps for one year, resumes his position as manager of the division single jet pumps and gas scrubbers.

Invoiced sales for the first half of 2000 increased to MSEK 1211 (last year MSEK 1165) This corresponds to an increase of 3% adjusted for currency fluctuations and acquisitions. Deliveries to the process industry were at the same level as last year, whereas shipments to the building and construction area increased only thanks to the acquisition of CH&E in the US.
