Hot on the heels of several other acquisitions over the past couple of years, Stuart Turner has acquired Aquatronic Group Management (AGM), a key provider of cold-water boosting installation and maintenance equipment and services in the UK.

With its new Hya-Duo D FL-R pressure booster system the pump manufacturer KSB has complemented its portfolio of hydrant break tank package booster sets for fire fighting. The fire-fighting system, designed in conformity with DIN 14462, uses only one main fire-fighting pump to supply hydrants installed above-floor or underfloor with up to 192 cubic metres of fire-fighting water per hour in the event of fire. The systems have been developed for supplying fire-fighting water to protect multiple dwellings, residential and office buildings, multi-storey car parks and hospitals, for example.

Vesconite’s Hitemp 160, a no-grease-needed bearing material able to operate up to 160°C (320ºF), and even up to 220ºC (430ºF) depending on the application, offers a major advantage to many pump manufacturers.

An engineered polymer traditionally used for bearings has reduced fire risks on solvent extraction (SX) plants. The polymer, Vesconite, has been installed by SAM Engineering on base plates upon which its centrifugal pumps are mounted.
