Sulzer South Africa Ltd. recently received The Most Outstanding Technological Innovation Award at the Technology Top 100 awards ceremony held in Midrand, South Africa.

Sulzer Pumps Receives Award for Technical Innovation

Rainer Vach of Sulzer South Africa Ltd. accepts award from the Honourable Minister of Science & Technology, Mosibadi Mangena.

These awards, started in 1991, are issued by the South African government to companies in the private sector for developments that help South Africa compete technologically in international markets. The award was given to Sulzer Pumps for the development of a sophisticated mining drill that does not require oil to lubricate it. Sulzer Pumps was also a finalist in the Metals Machinery, Electrical, Capital Equipment and Construction category.

GEA Recognized by CDP with ‘A’ Score for Transparency on Climate Change

GEA scores an ‘A’ for its transparency and performance on climate change by global environmental non-profit organization CDP. This marks the third time in a row that the mechanical engineering company has been included in CDP’s A list, which is the highest possible rating. According to CDP, GEA is only one of a small number of companies that achieved an ‘A’ – out of 21,000 companies scored.
