Hermetic Pumps Optimizes Pump Delivery

15.08.2013

Hermetic pumps provide reliable service for years and often for decades. Canned motor pumps are known for their high Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF). In practice, MTBF is up to four times higher compared to similar conventionally sealed pumps.

However, should a pump fail, the urgency of spare part delivery is particularly high. At worst, loss of production or downtime of entire plant sections is impending. To respond as quickly as possible, Hermetic optimised not only production, processing and packaging of urgent orders, but also their dispatch: Due to classification as “Known Consignor” by the Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt), spare parts or complete pumps may be packed ready for airfreight and dispatched at the production site in Gundelfingen.

Afterwards, a freight forwarder, who is also qualified, transports the goods from the factory directly to the aircraft. HERMETIC trained not only individual employees for this purpose, but also uses special packaging materials to meet air safety requirements and invested additionally in security: Access to the factory is no longer possible without a valid ID and orders are packed, ready for dispatch in specially protected areas. “Compared to handling by external service providers, we save up to one week, since all further checks, e.g. at airports are no longer necessary”, said E. Jakob, dispatch manager at Hermetic.
