Arauco, one of the world‘s largest forestry companies, has placed an order of 300 ABS process pumps for a new pulp mill in Valdivia, Chile. The greenfield mill will have a production of 600,000 tons/year of bleached kraft market softwood and hardwood pulps made from eucalyptus and pine.

The order includes a number of different pumps used for various positions in a pulp mill: digester circulation pumps, evaporation pumps, fan pumps and some pumps for chemical preparation including pumps in casted titanium for a chlorine dioxide plant.

The main part of the 300 process pumps are in stainless steel and were chosen thanks to their proven technical quality, cost-efficiency and low energy consumption.

All pumps are equipped with mechanical seals from the ABS flexible seal concept System PSI the flexible sealing system for a truly cost-effective process.

System PSI™ offers reliable sealing technology for all applications within the pulp & paper industry, combining minimised downtime with low power consumption.
