The new Alfa Laval ThinkTop V20, the next generation of hygienic valve indication units, is driving digital transformation within the process industries. Moving valve position monitoring into the Industry 4.0 era delivers competitive advantage.
The HiScroll series from Pfeiffer Vacuum consists of three dry and hermetically sealed scroll pumps with a nominal pumping speed of 6 – 20 m³/h. These vacuum pumps are characterized not only by their high performance when evacuating against atmosphere but also by their very high energy efficiency that reduces their carbon footprint.
Hermetically sealed, low-maintenance pumps that are suitable for extreme applications and hazardous liquids are the core competence of HERMETIC-Pumpen GmbH.
When a well in an oilfield is first opened, generally there is plenty of existing pressure and volume for oil, gas and water to reach the surface. Over time, however, that initial boost reduces and artificial lift methods must be applied to literally push those resources to the surface.
Pfeiffer Vacuum introduces the first rotary vane pump for mass spectrometry with a hermetically sealed pump housing. The SmartVane serves as a backing pump for mass spectrometers (ICP-MS, LC/MS), for applications in environmental and food analytics, as well as in pharmaceutical and clinical analytics.
“With special centrifugal pumps and the foundation of Paul Bungartz GmbH & Co. KG in 1947, my grandfather laid the foundation for our company,” says Dipl.-Ing. Frank Bungartz, who is the third generation to manage the company.
At a nickel-cobalt mine in Papua New Guinea, until the end of 2017 cost-optimized diaphragm pumps from a regional manufacturer were used to pump 98 percent sulfuric acid. Sulfuric acid is required for the extraction of nickel from laterite. However, as the units previously used had a high failure rate and long downtimes, those responsible decided to replace them with new models.
A semi-basement room in Leonberg near Stuttgart, a motorcycle as the company vehicle and DM 3,000 as seed capital – this is how the success story of LEWA GmbH began. Founded in 1952 as an engineering office for water treatment, LEWA developed into the worldwide manufacturer of metering and process diaphragm pumps, as well as complete metering systems for process engineering within a few decades despite the difficult initial conditions.
Until now, the Bungartz company has been known for its special centrifugal pumps, which have become known worldwide as problem solvers. What is new now is a rotary piston pump, which will be presented to the general public for the first time at ACHEMA 2022.
