EBARA Group companies Hayward Gordon ULC (“HGULC”), EBARA Pumps Canada Corporation (“EPCC”) and Scott Turbon Mixer, Inc. (STM) have announced their strategic amalgamation and name changes effective June 30, 2024.

At Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) in June, Xylem President and CEO Matthew Pine shared insights on escalating global water challenges, the proven technologies available to solve them and the growing need to simplify water management. During a panel called “Titans of Industry,” Pine also discussed how Xylem is transforming its organization to make it easier for water operators to adopt advanced solutions and make their communities and businesses more water-secure.

Digital analytics company InfoTiles has entered a strategic partnership with global engineering consultancy Arup to empower water and wastewater utilities to maximise the value and sustainability of crucial water infrastructure. Using innovative data analytics technology and artificial intelligence, the two companies will use their combined engineering expertise, digital capability, and wraparound service to help utilities across the water value chain make better-informed decisions and drive progress in digital asset management, data, and operational insight.

Atlas Copco’s footprint and expertise have improved critical dewatering operations on a strategic infrastructure project in The Philippines. The Dipolog-Dapitan bridge project is one of several development initiatives on the island of Mindanao, intended to boost economic growth in the region. Despite high levels of rainfall, safe working conditions have been maintained and the project has been kept on schedule through the deployment of Atlas Copco dewatering pumps.

The trade audience first became acquainted with micro-metering pumps with linear motors four years ago at Achema. Now this technology is living up to expectations in practice. Use cases often include needing to meter small and micro-quantities precisely, apply a highly dynamic metering profile or handle a range of different processes. In addition, many users are looking for low-wear pumps with minimal maintenance as a standalone solution. Micro-metering pumps, which are highly compact, flexible and reliable, are ideal for such cases.

Celeros Flow Technology (Celeros FT) is contributing to the decarbonization of offshore oil & gas operations in the North Sea. The company has successfully secured a contract to provide two new water injection packages, including the electric motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs), for the AKER/OKEA power from shore project off the coast of Norway.

Atlas Copco recently introduced a new innovative solution for the beer bottling process – the Beer Foam Separator (BFS 900). Built to be used in combination with its industry 4.0 ready GHS VSD+ screw vacuum pump, the addition of the beer foam separator is primed to improve energy efficiency, reduce lifecycle costs and lower the rejection rate of over and underfilled bottles in the process.

Alternative approaches to phosphorus removal at rural wastewater treatment works are being explored in an innovation project led by United Utilities. The ALT-P project, for which Spring Innovation is the knowledge-sharing partner, received funding through Ofwat’s inaugural Water Breakthrough Challenge in 2021. Working alongside United Utilities are project partners Southern Water, Wessex Water, University of Portsmouth, Power & Water, Kolina, Hydro Industries and Evergreen.
