(NYSE: PNR) announced today that increased cost controls and other operating efficiencies enabled the company to deliver second quarter 2001 earnings per share (EPS) of $0.58, in line with analysts’ estimates and 38 percent above first quarter 2001 EPS of $0.42. Pentair’s free cash flow for the second quarter totaled $106.4 million, bringing total free cash flow for the first half of 2001 to $53.4 million, a nearly $100 million improvement from the first six months last year and representing 109 percent conversion of year-to-date 2001 net income.

    DALLAS, July 24 /PRNewswire/ — Flowserve Corp. (NYSE: FLS) today announced net income of 35 cents a share, excluding integration expenses, for the second quarter of 2001. This compares with reported net income of 33 cents a share and a pro forma net loss of 2 cents a share in the second quarter of 2000. Pro forma results give effect as if the company’s August 2000 acquisition of Ingersoll-Dresser Pump Co. (IDP) had been completed on Jan. 1, 2000, and include purchase accounting adjustments.

    Pumps and valves manufacturer KSB closed the year 2000 with a successful set of figures. The Group achieved a pretax result of DM 55.1 million. As reported on 28 June at the company’s General Meeting in Frankenthal, Germany’s KSB AG and the Group companies in the Americas and Asia accounted for a major share of the improvement in results, which were up by around 38 percent on the previous year.
