  • Dr. Helmut Perlet New Chairman of GEA s Supervisory Board

    Today, the Annual General Meeting of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft elected the new shareholder representatives to the Company s Supervisory Board. Ahmad Bastaki, Prof. Dr. Ing. Werner Bauer, Hartmut Eberlein, Dr. Helmut Perlet as well as Jean E. Spence were re-elected for another 5-year term of office. In addition, Dr. Molly P. Zhang, Vice President at ORICA Ltd., USA, was appointed to the Supervisory Board as a new member.

    Voith Hydro Canada Awarded Site C Turbine and Generator Contract

    Voith Hydro Canada has received a 470 million Canadian Dollar (CAD) turbine and generator contract from energy supplier and future plant operator BC Hydro. The contract is for the design, supply, and installation of six vertical axis, Francis-style turbines, six generators and associated equipment, and covers work to be completed at the Site C Clean Energy Project (Site C) on the Peace River in northeast British Columbia (BC).

    Boliden Garpenberg, which mines a complex ore containing zinc, lead, copper, silver and gold, is one of the world’s most highly modernized mines. Productivity per employee is almost unequalled, and economy at the mine is always in focus. This is true even when it comes to the constant task of removing sludge and water. Since 2007, the mine has relied on Sulzer to care for its entire fleet of pumps – including those of previous suppliers – and has been among the first to adopt Sulzer dewatering innovations.

    ABB Shareholders Approve all Proposals at the Annual General Meeting

    The shareholders elected Frederico Fleury Curado, Robyn Denholm, David Meline and Satish Pai to join the Board. Peter Voser, Jacob Wallenberg, Matti Alahuhta, David Constable, Louis R. Hughes, Michel de Rosen and Ying Yeh were re-elected for another term. The shareholders also voted for the proposed Compensation Committee members.
