Grundfos Wins 2001 California Team Excellence Award

POWAY, Calif., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Grundfos Pumps Manufacturing Corporation, located in Fresno, swept the 2001 California Team Excellence Awards (CTEA) competition winning the top Gold-level winner with its "Reduce the Juice" team.

The annual competition, which is administered by the

non-profit California Council for Excellence (CCE), recognizes work teams for

their process improvement and innovation in the workplace.

The "Reduce the Juice" team was formed as a voluntary process improvement

team to examine ways to reduce energy consumption in the company. The goal of

the team was to reduce the energy consumption by 3.33 percent the first year.

The actual reduction in energy consumption was reduced by 28 percent the first

year! CCE's president Tom Hinton noted that "in light of California's energy

crisis this is a significant accomplishment and one that every manufacturer in

our state should take notice of."

GEA Recognized by CDP with ‘A’ Score for Transparency on Climate Change

GEA scores an ‘A’ for its transparency and performance on climate change by global environmental non-profit organization CDP. This marks the third time in a row that the mechanical engineering company has been included in CDP’s A list, which is the highest possible rating. According to CDP, GEA is only one of a small number of companies that achieved an ‘A’ – out of 21,000 companies scored.
