IUH has a department to study the engineering aspects of turbomachinery such as pumps and chillers, with about 150 students currently studying there. Students have had to date few opportunities to experience a real pump in the training at the university, and IUH has long sought to introduce pumps as educational tools.

On December 17, when the pumps were donated, a seminar on pumps and chillers was held at IUH, and about 80 people, mainly university students, attended. During the seminar, a lecture was held centered on basic knowledge of pumps, how to determine pump requirements, the mechanism of chillers, and how to select chillers.

Ebara has sought to deepen mutual understanding around the world through international cooperation, including technical guidance. Since the establishment of the Ebara Hatakeyama Memorial Fund (EHMF) in 1989, Ebara has held seminars more than 250 times around the world, and more than 12,000 people in total have attended them. In FY2016, a total of four seminars were held.

Going forward, Ebara will continue contributing to the development of Southeast Asian countries through international cooperation activities such as technical seminars, rather than by merely providing products and services including pumps.
