Armand Sohet Appointed as Sulzer’s Chief Sustainability Officer

Expanding a business and installing new equipment requires precision planning and timely deliveries if the start-up date is to be achieved. For one major business in the U.S. Virgin Islands, two existing pumps were to be installed in a different process, but before they could be started, control panels were needed and quickly.

Last year, the Wilo Group submitted its targets for decreasing their CO2 emission to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The short- and long-range emission reduction targets have now been confirmed by the initiative.

Sulzer announces the inauguration of its new production lines in Easley, South Carolina. Featuring state-of-the-art technology and processes, the Easley production lines manufacture submersible sewage and grinder pumps using U.S. materials and labor. As part of Sulzer’s strategic focus on strengthening its local supply chain, the expansion enhances Sulzer’s ability to meet demand for vital U.S. infrastructure.

The Wilo Group continued to grow profitably and sustainably in 2023. Despite a challenging market environment, the multinational technology group achieved record net sales of around EUR 2 billion in the 2023 financial year. This corresponds to a currency-adjusted increase of 10.4 per cent compared to the previous year.

Sulzer recently celebrated the official launch of a brand new test and assembly center built alongside its existing pump manufacturing facility in Mexico City. The new state-of-the-art facility features a 10-meter-deep hydraulics test bed for large pumps, a digital monitoring system and a dedicated packaging area.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Federal Republic of Germany visited the Wilopark. Once on site, HE Zohour Alaoui discussed the role of the Moroccan market for Wilo as well as water supply projects in Sebou and Tangier with the President & CEO of the Wilo Group, Oliver Hermes, among other things.
