The scale of the challenges for innovation has never been greater in the UK water sector – that was the message from the Innovation Summit jointly hosted by British Water and Bentley Systems in the City of London on 30 September 2025.

Valmet has received an order to deliver a comprehensive replacement of plant DCS and turbine control systems at the Ennatuurlijk’s combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in Helmond, the Netherlands. The modernization project will enhance the plant’s operational efficiency, reliability, and safety, while ensuring stable combined heat and power (CHP) production. The project also supports the company’s long-term commitment to achieving carbon neutrality.

Anglian Water has completed the installation of specialist wastewater treatment equipment from WCS Environmental Engineering (WCSEE). A total of 10 WCSEE Hybrid modular biological treatment units and two Flocell XFMs for tertiary solids removal were put in place as part of a major upgrade of Horning Knackers Wood water recycling centre (WRC) in north Norfolk.

Green Highland, a Voith Company, has signed a long-term agreement to provide full operational support and maintenance services at the Kinlochleven hydropower plant, which is one of the oldest in the UK. Under the contract, Green Highland will assume full responsibility for daily operations and long-term maintenance.
