It’s that time of year again when the Pump Industry Awards are calling for your nominations! The BPMA’s annual awards programme has been recognising and rewarding the achievements of pump businesses, large and small for over two decades. Throughout that time, it has become one of the leading events to serve the industrial and commercial arena.

Europump (the European Pump Association) is delighted to announce that its 2024 Annual Meeting and General Assembly will once again be staged in the UK. Hosted by the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) and sponsored by WEG, this three-day event will be held at the spectacular De Vere Beaumont Estate near Windsor in the Royal County of Berkshire, from 22nd – 24th May.

Elliott Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of EBARA CORPORATION, announced that it has won an order to supply cryogenic rotating equipment for the Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 project in Jefferson County, Texas. Elliott will supply cryogenic pumps, expanders, boil-off gas (BOG) compressors, and end flash gas (EFG) compressors for the project, which is being developed by Sempra Infrastructure.

The Brazilian company ENGIE Brasil Energia awarded international technology group ANDRITZ a contract for modernization of the Brazilian Jaguara hydropower plant.

The multinational Wilo Group has opened a new plant in India. In Kesurdi in the west of the country, a sustainable and ultra-modern high-tech production complex has been built on a 94,000 square metre site. Here, the technology group manufactures premium pump systems for water management in India, the Middle East, Africa and South-east Asia.

Vesconite Bearings is pleased to announce the successful testing of its Hitemp 160 machined bushings in a demanding application in South Korea. The client, a prominent industrial entity, carried out testing by fully submerging the bushings in an oleum (fuming sulphuric acid at 30% concentration) up to a temperature of 80ºC while utilising an Alloy 20 Stainless Steel shaft on a sump pump.

Stefan Isberg has been General Manager at WANGEN PUMPEN since 1 July 2023, and heads the corporate management team together with Erik Sparby and Lorenz von Haller. The 48-year old Swede is responsible for the Production Centre Division (PC), which includes the Production, Finance/Controlling, IT, HR, Product Development and Purchasing departments.

GEA continued its positive performance of recent years in the second quarter of 2023 despite a slight decline in order intake. The key performance indicators of organic revenue, EBITDA before restructuring expenses and ROCE, again show a significant improvement compared with the prior-year quarter.
