Registration for the 2015 Hydraulic Institute (HI) Technical Meeting is now open. This year’s meeting will take place June 2-5, 2015 at the Charleston Marriott in Charleston, South Carolina. Members of the Hydraulic Institute, Associate Members, Standards Partners, and qualified prospective members are encouraged to register.

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) and Pump Systems Matter (PSM), HI’s educational affiliate, recently signed a joint training partnership agreement with Ambeone DMCC/Marketways Arabia, located in Dubai, UAE. The training partnership will bring the first ever Pump Systems Optimization Course (PSO) course in the Middle East. Together, the companies share the mutual goal to bring the latest pump systems education programs to the Middle East.

Ebara Corporation held seminars on pumps under the theme “Water Supply” on February 11 and 12, at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Approximately, 40 participants from government agencies and private-sector companies, and around 100 university students attended.

Around six weeks before the start of IFAT Eurasia, all the available space in the exhibition halls is fully booked—an additional outdoor area is therefore now being organized to offer additional capacity. The premiere of this environmental technology show takes place in Ankara, between April 16 and 18, 2015.

The water industry is among the sectors affected by demographic change and faces the prospect of declining numbers of young professionals joining its ranks. That includes academics and practicians alike. With competition for specialists intensifying this demands that the industry react.

Preparations are in full swing for MCE, the world’s leading biennial exhibition dedicated to residential and industrial installations, air-conditioning and renewable energy. Two new international events are planned for 2015: MCE Asia in September and MCE Saudi in November.

Preliminary figures for the HVACR marketplace show that more than 61,000 total attendees, including 42,400 visitors, participated in the 2015 AHR Expo, January 26 – 28, at McCormick Place.

The countdown is on: from 15 to 19 June 2015 the doors will open on Achema 2015. Over 3,100 exhibitors have already registered but, as in 2012, the organisers anticipate around 3,800. Moreover, the congress programme is shortly to be released.

Water and in particular waste water are environmental themes of great importance in mining in South Africa. These vital aspects are being addressed by IFAT Environmental Technology Forum Africa, the premiere of which takes place from September 15 to 18, 2015 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre.

The new challenges facing the water industry demand innovative, scientific and technical solutions as well as a political and administrative response. Taking as its slogan ’Water and sustainable development’ the Wasser Berlin International Congress 2015 will be setting the tone and providing industry experts with a platform for dialogue and for exchanging experiences on projects and concrete technical solutions.
