Compact Rotary Lobe Technology for High Volumes in a Limited Space

In addition to the progressing cavity technology, the Netzsch portfolio also includes a series of rotary lobe pumps: The major special feature of the self-priming, Tornado T2 series is its synchronised gear with belt drive which, in contrast to standard timing gears, is extremely resilient and easy to maintain. A belt with teeth on both sides transmits the power from the motor to both rotary lobes while at the same time synchronising them.

  • Pleuger Industries Supplies Process Water Pumps to Chile’s Leading Copper Mine

    The Chilean Collahuasi Mine in the Pica district of the Tarapacá region produces more than 5,000 tons of fine copper per year, making it one of the largest copper mines in the world. Two opencast mines, Rosario and Ujina, provide the necessary copper ores, which are smelted on site into copper concentrate and cathodes. Destination: Far East and the Chilean copper industry. For enrichment, the mine relies on the “flotation” process, for which the German motor pump manufacturer Pleuger Industries now supplies six robust high-performance pumps.

    Tripling Service Life in a Wastewater Treatment Plant: FSIP Pump Design Permits Situation-Specific Adaptation

    An existing pump, which conveyed thick sludge to an intermediate tank, showed a high level of wear due to the abrasive medium. The wastewater treatment plant therefore decided to replace it with a unit that is more robust and easier to maintain. A Nemo progressing cavity pump with a special “Full Service in Place” (FSIP) concept from German-based company Netzsch Pumpen & Systeme has therefore been used since 2016.

    Immediate Order of New Wärtsilä Waterjets for High-Speed Ferry

    The Wärtsilä WXJ series of modular waterjets, recently introduced by the technology group Wärtsilä, has quickly been selected for its first installation. A new 100 metres long, wave-piercing catamaran ferry being built for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago at the Incat shipyard in Tasmania, Australia will be powered by four Wärtsilä WXJ1200 waterjets. The order was booked in March 2019.

    Voith Hydro Receives Major Order for Australian Pumped Storage Power Plant

    Voith has been awarded a contract to equip the Australian pumped storage power station Snowy 2.0, one of the largest pumped storage basins worldwide, with electrical and mechanical power plant components. The Future Generation Joint Venture (a Joint Venture between Salini Impregilo, Clough and Lane) and the Heidenheim-based technology group signed the contract at beginning of April. Operator of the plant is Snowy Hydro Ltd.
