Xylem’s Godwin Brand Launches New Automatic, Self-priming Dewatering Pump

24.04.2013

Xylem Inc. has launched a new powerful and compact Godwin pump specifically designed for lower head dewatering applications.

The Godwin Vac-Prime is a highly efficient, automatic, self-priming dewatering solution ideally suited to well-pointing. The new pump was unveiled for the first time at Bauma trade show, 15th-21st April in Munich, Germany (Hall A6, booth # 427/528).

As a result of its compact size, Xylem’s Godwin Vac-Prime is easy to move and transport. It does not require specialist transport and with its lifting frame, fork pockets and optional wheels, it needs minimal on-site equipment. The speed of air evacuation that it delivers is due to a combination of the highly efficient vacuum pump and the fast-priming system.

Graeme Saunders, General Manager International Business Development for Xylem said, “Our extensive range of Dri-Prime pumps for medium to high head applications is now joined by the Godwin Vac-Prime which has been specifically designed for lower head dewatering jobs. It is light and small in size but delivers Godwin’s trademark quality, reliability and robustness at its core. It also offers excellent fuel economy and a value-focussed dewatering solution.”

Godwin Vac-Prime 4" and 6" models can manage heads of 11-25 metres, flows of 100-374 m³/h and solids handling of 45–75mm. The fully automatic, self-priming pump means more uptime and makes it ideal for a range of applications including draining canals, dewatering open excavations, basements, quarries, pumping water containing solids, pumping bentonite and drilling muds well as well-pointing. The pump’s durable, high quality cast steel impeller aids shatter-resistance.

The Godwin Vac-Prime offers extended, trouble-free dry-running; Godwin mechanical seals run in an oil bath which dissipates the heat allowing for problem-free dry-running with no fear of seals over-heating and cracking. The wet end Xylem’s Godwin Vac-Prime is based on the long proven design of larger Godwin Dri-Prime pumps. It offers long service intervals and minimum downtime.
