Since 1992, the non-profit organization - also based in Dresden - coordinates aid projects around the world, especially where people suffer from crises, conflicts and natural disasters. Due to the provision of clean drinking water, a quick and sustainable help is assured - for more health, nutrition safety and the perspective for a self-determined life.

Recently, the humanitarian mission on the Philippines was an important project. On the 9th of November 2013, the devastating typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippine islands and left behind a swath of destruction. Directly after the catastrophe, the arche noVa team started off to the region. The focus of their mission was the amelioration of sanitary supply and hygienic conditions of affected people. Moreover, the team installed drinking water facilities, repaired wells, passed water pipelines and distributed water canisters. Due to emergency toilets, compostable toilet sacs and the building of school latrines the team contributes to the protection of affected people against diseases and to the retrieving of the people s privacy.

The provision of clean drinking water in conflict areas that are devastated by a natural disaster is one of the most important reliefs. But the water supply is an important and serious topic for all regions in which the arche NoVa organization is working. And in most cases pump technology is used for the installation of appropriate facilities. "We are supporting arche NoVa not only because VSX has - due to our core competence in the field of pump technologies - a strong relation to these kinds of reliefs", explains Jens-Uwe Vogel, Managing Director of VSX - VOGEL SOFTWARE. "We would rather honor the selfless commitment of the arche NoVa employees who are directly working in the affected regions and we would like to contribute to a successful realization of their projects. Of course, the local proximity to the organization is also a joining element. "

Besides emergency operations like on the Philippines, arche NoVa is also coordinating other projects, e.g. in Africa, where water, sanitary and hygiene supply in the appropriate countries are focused. In Germany, the organization supports for instance flood aid. During the last months a lot of small and large rebuilding projects of charitable facilities could be started after the disastrous river floods in June 2013.
