The dualArm VIL Pump — S.A. Armstrong

21.09.2001

Armstrong introduces the space and maintenance saving Series 4202 and 4382 dualArm Vertical n-Line pumps for commercial HVAC and hydronic system applications.

These centrifugal pumps offer an innovative upright design, which now combines performance advantages and features of two Armstrong Vertical In-Lines in a single casing dualArm design provides a built-in backup feature incorporating two volutes, two motors and impellers sharing common suction and discharge pods. This unique arrangement allows parallel or standby operation, eliminating costly system service shutdowns and the need for consuming air purging.

The Armstrong dualArm combines the advantages of a small footprint - requiring 2/3 less mechanical room space than conventional pumps. In addition, the unique casing design allows tandem operation, effectively doubling the capacity of a single pump when required, with no loss of single pump efficiency. This enables engineers to protect against 'system surges' and to design energy-efficient HVAC systems which utilize compact, compatible components.

dualArm Vertical In-Line pumps are designed with a swing flapper valve in the discharge port, which prevents liquid re-circulating when only one pump is operating- In addition, dynamically balanced impellers assure smooth, vibration-free operation. Models are available to 8' connection sizes, with 10' impellers, incorporating a wide range of industry standard and special duty motors.

The Series 4382 is motor mounted for greatest space economy. The Series 4302 incorporates a split spacer coupling, allowing each seal to be serviced without disturbing the pump or motors.
