08.12.2004

National Plant and Pump, Hire and Sales company Selwood Ltd. has announced the opening of two new branches bringing its total to 33 branches throughout the UK.

The new branches are in Douglas on the Isle of Man and in Aberdeen.

An initial tranche of £500,000 worth of new plant, incorporating telehandlers, mini excavators, rollers, compressors, dumpers and pumps, has been invested in the Manx operation which will be headed up by Shaun McGee who has over 20 years experience working on the Island.

A further £500,000 has been invested in pumps for the Aberdeen branch, which will operate purely as a pump hire and sales location. Selwood, the number one pump hirer in the UK, has its full range of 2” to 12” surface pumps, hydraulic and electro submersible pumps and super silent range, the quietest pumps on the market with noise levels from only 58db(A), all available for hire. Experienced pump man Tom Anderson heads up this operation that complements the other Selwood branches in Scotland at Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Selwood Managing Director Kevin Bright commented, ’’we are very excited at this expansion of the company in a year that will see us achieve record sales and record profits. The opening of these two branches will be followed by further expansion in 2005.
