Pentair´s Water Ace Pump Division Named Lowe´s “Vendor of the Year”

Pentair, Inc. (NYSE: PNR) announced today that Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW), a 775-store home center chain, recently named F.E. Myers' Water Ace retail division "Vendor of the Year" for Lowe's rough plumbing and electrical division. F.E. Myers is a unit of the Pentair Pump Group.

Lowe's "Vendor of the Year" qualifications include: line item fill rates

of 99 percent or higher; high value and high quality products; responsible

environmental stewardship; innovative and instructive merchandising; and

extraordinary service. Lowe's has more than 4,000 vendors, of which only

11 were named "Vendor of the Year" for 2001.

Water Ace products include a full array of residential pumps, tanks and

accessories. Water Ace was also named Lowe's "Vendor of the Year" in 1994.
