Pentair Names Dr. Rolchigo Vice President Water

Pentair announced the appointment of Dr. Philip M. Rolchigo as Vice President, Water Technology for its Water Group, effective immediately. Rolchigo most recently served as the global separation technologies leader for General Electric, Water and Process Technologies (GE).

In his new role, Dr. Rolchigo will report to Michael V. Schrock, Pentair president and chief operating officer.

"This new role marks an exciting development for Pentair. The demands for innovative technologies in Water are many, as regions around the world face unique use and reuse challenges that demand ever-evolving solutions," Schrock said. "Phil will provide new technology and innovation leadership, amplifying Pentair's market-leading position in water and strengthening our global technology team. He will lead new product development planning to drive more effective translation of cutting-edge technologies into commercially viable products and to map new approaches to best serve the diverse global water markets," Schrock added.

Dr. Rolchigo has held a number of leadership roles in the water industry. At GE, he led the integration of the Osmonics and Ionics technology groups and built a global development team. He also led external research and development, and led six sigma initiatives throughout the technology organization. Prior to GE, Dr. Rolchigo served as the chief technology officer and, earlier, as vice president of research and development, at Osmonics, Inc., and began his career at Membrex, Inc. in progressively responsible research and development roles.

Dr. Rolchigo holds Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester. In 2004, he won the GE Leadership Award for Technical Innovation. His industry recognition includes Process magazine's 2003 Breakthrough Product of the Year award; and Chemical Processing magazine's Vaaler award for innovative wastewater treatment products in 1992 and 1993. He holds several patents, and has published several research and development articles in industry leading publications. Most recently, he presented at the 2006 Water Reuse Foundation Conference on, "Advances in Desalination and Water Reuse Treatment Technologies."
