New Literature for WUC Vertical Multistage Double Casing Pumps

24.05.2004

The Pump Division of Flowserve Corporation has published a new brochure describing its line of WUC double casing vertical multistage pumps. This highly engineered specialty pump line is based on a modular system, thus providing maximum design and operating flexibility.

Operating at temperature extremes (including cryogenic conditions) and handling difficult fluids, these pumps are designed for continuous, unspared duty in a variety of high pressure services for the hydrocarbon, chemical and oil industries. The bulletin notes that WUC pumps meet such international standards as: API 610, latest edition; ASME Sections VIII and IX; German Pressure Vessel Association (AD); and British Standard BS 5500. They are also in compliance with Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC.

The WUC pumps are available in a choice of hydraulic designs including: radial flow hydraulics for low flow, high head applications and mixed flow hydraulics for high flow, how head applications. All WUC models feature:

  1. stiff-shaft construction for stable operation under all service conditions
  2. reinforced motor stand that ensures rigid structural design
  3. API 682 compliant mechanical seal chamber that accommodates all cartridge mounted seal designs, including: single and dual pressurized or unpressurized liquid; and gas designs.

Operating parameters for these pumps that are listed in the brochure include:

  • flows to 3000 m3/h (13 000 gpm)
  • heads to 2000 m (6500 ft)
  • temperatures from -200ºC (-325ºF) to 350ºC (660ºF)
  • Pressures to 200 bar (3000 psi)
