13.11.2001

Reichelderfer Succeeds Richard J.M. Hamilton, Who Is Retiring

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- ITT Industries, Inc.

(NYSE: ITT) today announced the appointment of Brenda L. Reichelderfer to the

position of President of the company's Specialty Products businesses. A

19-year ITT veteran, Reichelderfer was most recently President of the

company's Flow Control group, which is part of the Specialty Products segment.

ITT's Specialty Products segment is a group of businesses producing a wide

array of engineered products, including valves and switches for industrial and

aerospace applications, products for the marine and leisure markets, fluid

handling materials such as stainless steel and flexible tubing for various

industrial markets, and specialty shock absorbers and brake friction materials

for the transportation industry.

"I've had the privilege of working closely with Brenda Reichelderfer over

the years, and I am certain that her leadership skills will serve our

Specialty Products businesses well," said Lou Giuliano, Chairman, President

and Chief Executive Officer of ITT Industries. "Her breadth of experience

and commitment to our Value-Based Six Sigma program are highly valued, and

have prepared her well for the challenges of her new position."

Reichelderfer joined ITT Industries' predecessor company, ITT Corporation,

in 1982. She held a variety of positions in engineering and operations for

ITT Defense & Electronics, and was named Vice President of Engineering for the

Electrical Systems Group in ITT's former Automotive division in 1997. In

1998, she was named to President of the Fluid Specialty group and subsequently

became President of the Flow Control group in 1999. Reichelderfer was

awarded the prestigious Ring of Quality Award for individual contribution in

1988 and the Harold S. Geneen Award for Creative Management in 1991. She

holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Ohio

Northern University.

Reichelderfer's promotion follows the announced retirement of Richard

J. M. Hamilton, who most recently led the Specialty Products segment.

Hamilton has been with the company since 1971. He will remain through the end

of the year to assist in Reichelderfer's transition.

"Richard has contributed much to the success of ITT over his 30-year

career with the company and has been a valuable member of the senior

management team, particularly through the formation of ITT Industries as an

independent company and through his strong leadership of the Specialty

Products businesses," Giuliano said. "I want to thank him for his

contributions, and wish him well in his retirement."

ITT Industries, Inc. (http://www.itt.com) supplies advanced technology

products and services in key markets including: electronic interconnects and

switches; defense communications, opto-electronics, information technology and

services; fluid and water management and specialty products. Headquartered in
