Giant Keeps Fire at Bay

One of the first extralarge industrial pumps from Grundfos, the CR XL, is used in the fire-fighting equipment at one of the world s most efficient heat and power plants.

The big industrial pump is at the the heart of a power works in Northern Jutland, Denmark. It is part of the fire-fighting equipment which in emergencies will ensure all floors of the building are supplied with water for sprinklers and water posts.

"We also use the pumps for various cleaning operations and so we clearly see the difference in energy consumption before and now. However, most important is the increased efficiency we have obtained," said Arne Søring, Chief Engineer at the power plant.

The new CR XL,the world s biggest multi-stage inline pump, is part of the Grundfos CR family. With pumps from the small CR1 to large CR 150, the family offers more than a million possibilities of creating the exact pump solution suitable for each customer request.
