03.07.2014

At the specialized international Supply Chain Convention in Frankfurt am Main (Germany), which took place on 24 June 2014, GF Piping Systems, a division of GF, has won the 2014 Supply Chain Management Award for its outstanding end-to-end supply chain solution. The jury singled out the innovative services that have been developed for customers on the basis of the division’s supply chain management.

The 2014 Supply Chain Management Award was conferred to GF Piping Systems at EXCHAiNGE – The Supply Chainers Convention, which is an international trade conference. The prize is awarded every year to the best supply chain in the manufacturing industry. It is conferred by the Management Consulting unit of the auditing and consulting firm PwC and the trade journal LOGISTIK HEUTE in conjunction with the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics and the House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM).

The prize was awarded to GF Piping Systems for its integrated end-to-end supply chain solution, which enabled the division to gain strategic advantages. The solution has resulted in lowering logistics costs, optimizing processes and further improving customer service.

The solution puts in place complete product traceability by means of a QR code for individual stock items. By scanning the QR code, the customer gains direct access to the test certificates, product, installation data and instructions for use in video format. This greatly simplifies the customer’s installation and certification tasks.
