The award reflects a longstanding, successful relationship between the organisations, throughout which CUP has delivered 146 pumps for nuclear applications to CNPEC in China since 2006.
Companies are assessed for grading based on many criteria, including contract execution, support, installation and commissioning. Only a small percentage are awarded the prestigious “A” grading, which is, signifies an “Excellent supplier”. Colin Elcoate, VP Business Development – Power at SPX, commented, “This is a huge honour for SPX. It is affirmation of the quality of engineering, manufacturing and customer service we offer from our Glasgow and Annecy facilities. It also shows the high standard of service and support our teams in Glasgow, Annecy and China have provided to CNPEC, of which we are very proud.”
CNPEC is one of only three organisations in China licensed to construct nuclear power stations. The award is specific to the supply of pumps to the nuclear industry in China but is indirectly applicable to other regions and industries as a benchmark of the capability and high level support SPX provides to its customers.
Colin concluded, “We are very committed to long term partnerships with CNPEC and other customers within the nuclear industry. We will work diligently to maintain our “A” grade status and, continued high level of support for all of our customers.”
