Vanzetti Engineering presents the new ESK-IMO series of retractable submerged pumps, which are used in Small-Scale LNG Terminals and as Emergency pumps or Cargo/Stripping pumps in the marine sector. The ESK-IMO pumps offer the advantage of easy maintenance without the need for tank draining and reclamation.

The new HiPace 30 Neo turbopump from Pfeiffer Vacuum is a vacuum pump for compact analysis systems and portable applications. Due to its high gas throughput and exceptional compression, it is suitable for light gases and has excellent critical backing pressure.

Smith & Loveless Inc. highlights the EVERLAST Rectangular Recessed Pump Station, a semi-recessed climate-controlled wastewater pump station that continues the S&L tradition of high efficiency, long service life, operator ease and safety, and low operation and maintenance costs. The EV R2 pump station comes as a complete, factory-built and tested system that is simple to install in both new installations and replacements of submersible pump stations.

Using canned motor technology for submersible pumps provides significant advantages. A short shaft, only two slide bearings – independent from the immersion depth – and various monitoring functions not only ensure high reliability but also mean cost advantages for the operator. Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) has significantly enhanced its Qdos Conveying Wave Technology (CWT) pumps by increasing their pressure capability. The pumps are now capable of delivering flow rates of 500 ml/min at pressures of up to 130 PSI (9 bar), a substantial increase from its previous capacity of 100 PSI (7 bar).

At this year’s Anuga FoodTec, pump manufacturer LEWA will be presenting its newly developed LEWA homogenizer test system, that can be used to test the aseptic functioning of a homogenizer based on a hygienic hermetic process diaphragm pump. Thanks to a homogenizing valve that is also hygienic, it can be flexibly adjusted to the requirements of different emulsions.

At a tank farm in a Brazilian sea port, two centrifugal pumps were used for transferring heavy oil from storage tanks to road tankers or vessels until February 2020. This required the high viscosity of the medium to be reduced by means of diesel injection, costing the owner at least 2,000 US dollars each day. In addition, the centrifugal pumps regularly broke down due to cavitation damage. The owners decided to initially replace one of the two centrifugal pumps with a NOTOS multi screw pump from NETZSCH. Due to its very good suction capabilities, the selected four-screw 4NS is also suitable for highly viscous media with up to 200,000 cSt, achieving a flow rate of up to 3000 m³/h.

With every year that passes, emission regulations tighten in the shipping industry.
