Sulzer Opens Dedicated Repair Center for the Rail Industry

Sulzer is enhancing its rail repair capabilities by opening a Rail Competence Center in a new and dedicated facility, which will be located on the same site as the existing Nottingham Service Center. The primary objective of the center is to support the current and future customer demands by offering increased production capacity and enhanced reliability.

    EurEau Supports Council Compromise on Drinking Water

    EurEau supports the General Approach on the Drinking Water Directive, as adopted by the Environment Council on 5 March 2019. The negotiations led by the Romanian Presidency assure the human right to water through safeguarding public health and the affordability of water services. The resultant Council position improves the Commission’s proposal concerning the provisions on the risk-based approach, on the quality parameters and on information to consumers.

The global race to secure scarce resources is well underway. Deposits are now being mined that could not have been reached or were not economically viable a few years ago. Also, infrastructure projects are becoming increasingly ambitious, one example being the Gotthard base tunnel. This poses great challenges with respect to the dewatering processes.

    Sulzer Investments Further Improve Speed and Quality of High Voltage Coil Manufacturing

    Reducing the time to complete a repair or refurbishment of high voltage equipment minimizes downtime and increases productivity. Sulzer is continuing to invest in its design, manufacturing and testing facilities to enable faster turnarounds for customers. To keep up with growing demand, Sulzer is also increasing the capacity of its Falkirk Service Center, where the test-bed load capacity has been doubled.

    Atlas Copco Vacuum Pumps Certified 100% Free of Oil Contaminants by TÜV

    Three different types of oil-free vacuum pumps from Atlas Copco have been measured and certified with zero risk of oil contamination by the safety and quality organisation TÜV Rheinland. The oil-free claw vacuum pump DZS, oil-free screw vacuum pump DHS VSD+ and the latest oil-free liquid ring pumps LRP VSD+ have all been awarded ‘Class 0’ status. This assures users of their safety in sensitive industry sectors such as food processing and packaging, electronics, pharmaceuticals and paper.
