The Hydraulic Institute (HI), the largest association of pump manufacturers and suppliers to the pump industry in North America, and the global authority on pumps and pumping systems, installed new leadership during the 2024 Annual Conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.

Pauline Kao, Consul General for North Rhine-Westphalia at the U.S. Consulate General in Düsseldorf, visited the Wilopark in Dortmund. There, she exchanged views with Wilo Group President & CEO Oliver Hermes on current issues regarding transatlantic relations and learned about the technology group’s pioneering role in the areas of sustainable and smart industrial processes.

Once on site, HE Zohour Alaoui discussed the role of the Moroccan market for Wilo as well as water supply projects in Sebou and Tangier with the President & CEO of the Wilo Group, Oliver Hermes, among other things.

Sulzer celebrated the official opening of its new Innovation Technology Hub (InTecH) in Singapore’s Jurong Innovation District. The new 700-square-meter Singapore-based InTecH includes a state-of-the-art chemical engineering R&D test center, laboratories and small-scale production plants. Sulzer’s Singapore InTecH will test and deliver clean process technologies to enable sustainable manufacturing in the region.

A new group of startups is tackling the world’s growing water problems with novel technologies and new approaches to address water shortages, emerging contaminants like PFAS and other “forever chemicals,” and the impacts of climate change. Twelve startups were selected for the 2024 cohort of the Xylem Partnerships Accelerator run by Xylem Innovation Labs.

Hundreds of employees participated in the Endress+Hauser Water Challenge during the anniversary year 2023, undertaking joint activities and collecting donations for a good cause. The proceeds from the campaign were earmarked for two water projects in Vietnam.
