International technology group ANDRITZ has received a contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, for the rehabilitation and upgrade of all four turbines and generators at the Robert S. Kerr hydroelectric power plant, located on the Arkansas River in Eastern Oklahoma adjacent to the town of Cowlington.

The Al Awir sewage plant is one of the principle wastewater treatment centres in Dubai. It has been significantly expanded in recent years. The first phase of the plant was designed with a daily capacity of 260,000 m³ but by December 2007 it was dealing with almost 500,000 m³.

The name Walla Walla means “many waters.” Unfortunately, the city was losing more than 30 percent of its water annually due to failing pipes and aging meters. That’s when they began their journey toward long-term improvement by transitioning to a smart utility network from Sensus, a Xylem brand.

Voith Hydro has won the order to upgrade the power units from the Coo I section at Belgium’s largest pumped storage power plant, Coo-Trois-Ponts. The project will take a period of four years and will bring an increase in plant capacity of 79 MW and performance.

The Transalpine Pipeline (TAL) connecting Italy, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic relies on AUMA actuators for the safe and reliable transport of crude oil. AUMA has been awarded a framework agreement covering the replacement of existing valve actuators with its proven SAEx 25.1 actuators. As part of the five-year agreement, the AUMA actuators will be installed in the pumping stations along the Austrian part of the pipeline.

The El Temsah lake in Egypt has become heavily polluted in recent years from decades of run-off from the region’s farms. Reversing the pollution is a key part of Egypt’s water diversification strategy to provide clean water for agriculture and ease pressure on the River Nile’s strained resources.

AUMA supplied more than 150 electric actuators to Singapore’s new Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant (KMEDP). The plant was selected as ‘Desalination plant of the year’ at the Global Water Awards 2021.

Molson Coors is one of the biggest brewery groups in the world. The Serbian plant run by its subsidiary Apatinska Pivara Apatin has relied on technology engineered by KHS for over four decades. The long and trusting partnership between the two companies was recently further cemented by conversions to two of the brewery’s glass lines and the procurement of a KHS Innofill Can DVD can filler.

For a customer project in the automotive sector, Strama-MPS Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG from Bavaria, Germany, was looking for the right dispensing technology to implement in a production line. Based on the positive experience with previous, similar projects, the decision was made in favor of ViscoTec’s technology.

Steel manufacturer NLMK Europe is expanding its program to monitor the health of critical assets after completing a successful pilot with new machine learning technology at its hot strip mill in NLMK La Louvière, Belgium. The company plans to roll out the SAM4 system from Dutch tech company Samotics across its other sites in Europe.
