Weir Group: Appointment of Non-Executive Director

The Weir Group PLC announced the appointment of Charles Berry to the Board as a Non-Executive Director, with effect from 1 March 2013. He will become a member of both the Audit and Remuneration Committees from the date of his appointment.

Mr Berry (60) is Chairman and a Non-Executive Director of Drax Group plc, where he chairs the Nominations Committee and is a member of the Remuneration Committee. He is also the Non-Executive Chairman of Senior plc, where he currently chairs the Nominations Committee, and a Non-Executive Director of the Securities Trust of Scotland PLC and Impax Environmental Markets PLC.

He was an Executive Director of Scottish Power plc from 1999 to 2005, latterly as Chief Executive of the company s UK operations. Mr Berry is also a former Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Eaga plc and Thus Group plc.

Lord Smith of Kelvin, Chairman of The Weir Group PLC, stated "The Weir Board is delighted to welcome Charles Berry as a Non-Executive Director. Charles brings great experience of the industry and we are looking forward to benefitting from his contribution in the future."
