Through its partnership with Planet Water Foundation, a U.S.-based non-profit organization that works to bring clean water access to the world’s most impoverished communities, Watts donated “AquaTowers” at two schools in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
According to Planet Water officials, about five children every week in the San Juan de la Natura and El Carmen villages suffer stomachaches from a contaminated water supply.
“We are proud to partner with Planet Water to help the people of Mexico,” said Robert J. Pagano, Jr., CEO and President of Watts. “Providing immediate access to a sustainable and clean water source in the small rural communities of Aguascalientes is critical.”
The AquaTowers remove harmful contaminates, such as bacteria and viruses, and provide 1,800 people with 10,000 liters of clean water per unit daily.
Watts first joined forces with Planet Water Foundation in 2016. Since that time, the organizations have brought clean water to approximately 30,000 people in Cambodia, China, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Philippines, Thailand and Puerto Rico.
