Sulzer Announces Changes in the Executive Committee

Sulzer is pleased to announce changes to its Executive Committee.

New Division President Rotating Equipment Services (RES)

Daniel Bischofberger (50, Swiss) will join Sulzer from ABB on or before September 1, 2016, to become the President of Sulzer’s Rotating Equipment Services division. Daniel Bischofberger spent most of his career at ABB, where he most recently ran the Central and Southern Europe hub business unit and the Switzerland local business unit for high voltage. Daniel Bischofberger has extensive experience in rotating equipment service, having previously run a USD 1.5 billion gas turbine service business for more than five years. Daniel Bischofberger will become a member of Sulzer’s Executive Committee.

Peter Alexander, currently President of the Rotating Equipment Services division, has decided to retire and will step down at the end of August 2016. The company would like to thank Peter Alexander for his loyalty and dedication throughout his 29 years with Sulzer. He joined the Executive Committee in his current position in 2005. Previously, Peter Alexander held a number of positions with the former Sulzer Turbo Services division, including Head Business Development, Director of Operations and Engineering in Indonesia, and Engineering Manager as well as Project Engineer in the USA.

New group function Commercial and Marketing

Frédéric Lalanne (52, French) joins Sulzer today from General Electric (GE) to helm the newly created Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer (CCMO) position. Frédéric Lalanne was most recently the CCMO for GE Grid Solutions, GE’s USD 6 billion electrical business. His global career has been focused on the energy sector. He has held senior management positions in France, Belgium, India, and Indonesia for such companies as GE, Alstom, Pauwels, and Cegelec. He was also the CEO of a USD 300 million service company focused on the oil and gas and mining sectors. Frédéric Lalanne will become a member of Sulzer’s Executive Committee.

Fabrice Billard, currently Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), has elected to leave Sulzer to pursue other opportunities. He joined Sulzer 12 years ago and was appointed to the Executive Committee in 2015. The company would like to thank him for his leadership in setting up and monitoring the Sulzer Full Potential (SFP) program. The many SFP achievements realized under Fabrice Billard will continue to help Sulzer increase its competitiveness. The CSO position will be discontinued and the SFP team will report directly to the CEO. Fabrice Billard will leave the company on July 31, 2016.

The Sulzer Executive Committee will remain a seven-person body including the CEO, with all members reporting to CEO Greg Poux-Guillaume.

Andreas Zühlcke has been in charge of “Product Management & Marketing” at the metering technology manufacturer ProMinent since September 2022. As a member of the Executive Board, he is responsible for marketing communication, strategic marketing and product management with the areas of metering technology, measurement and control technology, water treatment technologies as well as digital products and services.
