PSM Announces 2013 Chairman of the Board of Directors and Officers

Pump Systems Matter (PSM) the 501(c)3 training subsidiary of the Hydraulic Institute (HI), announced the 2013 Board of Directors and Officers during HI’s Annual Meeting recently held in Fort Myers, Florida.

The new Board will be primarily responsible for providing organizational oversight to PSM and guiding the direction of its strategic training plan.

Geoff Wickes, Product Manager, Emerging Technologies, Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA), was acknowledged as and will remain Chairman of the Board for 2013.

  • Dean Douglas, President, Dover Pump Solutions Group
  • John Miersma, President & CEO, Iwaki America Incorporated
  • Mick Cropper, Director, Product Development, Sulzer Pumps (US) Inc.
  • Ann Garbow, Senior Product Portfolio Manager, Xcel Energy
  • Bruce Lung, Director, Industrial Team, Alliance to Save Energy (non-voting member)

The Board of Directors approves and oversees all educational and training initiatives created by HI’s Educational Affairs Steering Committee. During 2013, PSM plans to offer nearly fifty webinars to the pump industry on subjects such as Pump Systems Optimization, Variable Speed Drives, Slurry Pumps, Mechanical Seals, Rotodynamic Pump Acceptance Testing, Electronic Data Exchange, and Energy Efficiency.

PSM is set to unveil the Pump Systems Optimization: Energy Efficiency & Bottom-line Savings hybrid online course. The series consists of 3 self-paced online modules containing pre-work training and a live 1-hour webinar to follow each module. The series covers pumping system optimization, screening and analysis, and life cycle cost analysis and action planning. The first live webinar session will be held on June 3rd, the second session will be held on June 10th, and the final session will be held on June 17th. Registration closes on May 30, 2013.

PSM continues to offer the highly-regarded Pump Systems Optimization: Energy Efficiency & Bottom-line Savings in-person course which is designed to help pump users learn how to identify and reduce hidden operating and energy costs in their pump systems, improving efficiency and ultimately increasing the profitability of their businesses. This in-person course can be hosted by organizations at their choice location and time and can be offered to their customers, distributors, and employees.
