Pfeiffer Vacuum Becomes Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions

Innovative companies often have an interesting history. One tradition-conscious market leader is the German vacuum specialist Leybold. Founded by Ernst Leybold in Cologne in 1850, the company has achieved numerous pioneering milestones and product developments. Now, in 2025, the renowned manufacturer is celebrating its 175th anniversary.

Busch Group USA has expanded its presence by acquiring Total Maintenance Solutions (TMS) in Milan, Illinois. This strategic move strengthens Busch’s market position and accelerates growth, combining expertise to enhance vacuum solutions for customers in key sectors.

With the TURBOVAC MAG 2807 iS and 3207 iS Maglev turbomolecular pumps, Leybold is launching two new, compact turbomolecular pumps in the pumping speed class of 3,000 l/s. Equipped with magnetic rotor bearings, these highly robust, low vibration pumps are ideal for clean, hydrocarbon free, high vacuum conditions.

EDWARDS VACUUM has developed a new series of magnetically levitated turbomolecular pumps that can withstand the demands of both challenging industrial environments and research processes. The oil-free nEXT2807M and nEXT3207M Maglev pumps are specially designed for areas where a contamination-free vacuum is required for high process quality. The virtually maintenance-free models (up to 80,000 hours) are among the lightest and most space-saving turbopumps in their class.

The Busch Group has expanded the production facility of Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions in Romania. The new premises have now been inaugurated. The event took place at Nervia Industrial Park in Apahida, Cluj County. During the celebration, two other important milestones were also recognized: Busch Romania had its 10th anniversary and the founding of the new company Composites Busch Romania was announced.

Dr.-Ing. K. Busch GmbH, part of the global Busch Group, was awarded the prestigious EcoVadis bronze medal for its outstanding commitment to sustainability. The award underlines the high importance of environmental and social responsibility at Busch.
