    As a complement to its extensive range of butterfly valves for handling liquefied gas KSB Germany will be presenting the new Triodis valve series at this year’s Achema. The maintenance-free triple-offset butterfly valves are designed for handling fluids with temperatures ranging from minus 250 to plus 200 degrees Celsius, depending on their properties, and operating pressures of up to 100 bar.

    Bell & Gossett’s Little Red Schoolhouse Reaccredited

    The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has awarded reaccreditation status to the Bell & Gossett Little Red Schoolhouse. IACET Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes all programs offered or created during that time.

    Voith Receives Major Order from Turkey

    Voith has received a major order from Turkish facility Kalehan Energy Production. It includes the supply of three generators for Beyhan-1 hydro power plant in eastern Turkey, each with an output of 235 MVA, an outer diameter of 13.5 meters, and 7.9 meters of height.

    Over half the world’s population lives in urban areas, the majority in mega cities, of which there are 30, each of them home to between four and ten million people. By the year 2015 the number of mega cities is expected to rise to 60, with a combined population of 600 million. Currently cities account for around two-thirds of global energy consumption, 60 percent of water consumption and 70 percent of greenhouse gas emissions.
