KROHNE Highlights OPTISONIC 6300 P for Portable, Nonintrusive Flow Measurement

16.10.2026
KROHNE highlights its OPTISONIC 6300 P, a portable, battery-powered ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeter designed to provide temporary measurement of conductive and non-conductive liquids. The device enables users to collect additional flow data, conduct cost-effective on-site verification of inline flowmeters and perform temporary measurements without cutting pipe or interrupting the process.

The OPTISONIC 6300 P measures flow in pipe sizes from DN15 to DN4000, or ½ to 160 inches, and at process temperatures up to +120°C / +248°F. Its nonintrusive clamp-on design makes it suitable for comparative measurements on stationary equipment, such as pumps and inline flowmeters, as well as for temporary replacement of faulty flowmeters.

The portable instrument provides flexible clamp-on flow measurement through a battery-powered signal converter with an integrated data logger, allowing users to conduct real-time measurement or collect logged measurement data for later review. Bi-directional flow measurement capability provides additional flexibility for temporary measurement applications, while a standard thermal-energy measurement option supports energy-monitoring requirements.

The OPTISONIC 6300 P is configured and operated through the OPTISONIC 6300 P mobile app, which is available as a free download for Android and iOS devices. Users can connect a compatible mobile device to the flowmeter through a USB cable or secure wireless Bluetooth connection. The app includes a graphical installation wizard intended to simplify setup, along with tools to collect, monitor, analyze and store measurement data.

A two-channel converter supports dual-path or dual-pipe measurements. The system’s mounting rails and click-and-turn fixing-unit mechanism enable flexible placement and removal of the clamp-on sensors, helping users adapt installation to the specific pipe and measurement task.

In energy-measurement applications, the OPTISONIC 6300 P can be used with PT100 sensors and an I/O box. KROHNE also provides optional supporting accessories, including a factory-configured tablet, cable extensions, magnetic fixation units and a thickness gauge. The instrument is available in a hard flight case or a portable soft case with organizer trays for transport and field use.
