Hydraulic Institute Names Executive Leadership Team & 2008 Board of Directors
The Hydraulic Institute (HI), North America’s largest pump association and global authority on pumps and pumping systems, has named its executive leadership team and 2008 Board of Directors.
John Miersma, vice president, CFO and COO of Iwaki America Inc., has been named the organization’s new chairman of the board, while Bill Waltz, president of Pentair Water, will serve as HI president. Other key appointments include Dave McKinstry, vice president of IMO Pump, as vice president, technical affairs; Dennis Ziegler, president and CEO of GIW Industries, Inc., as vice president, member services; and Gretchen McClain, president of ITT Corporation - Fluid Technology, as vice president of knowledge & education.
In addition, Robert K. Asdal, executive director of HI, will continue to serve as the organization’s secretary and treasurer.
Former HI chairman of the board Tom E. Ferguson, president of the pump division at Flowserve, and past president Albert F. Huber, president of the Patterson Pump Company, will also continue their active participation with the organization as members of the 2008 Board of Directors. Completing the board membership team are:
- Daniel Shaw, president and CEO of McFarland Pump Company, LLC
- Bob Wasson, president of John Crane Inc.
- Dave Orlowski, CEO of Inpro/Seal Company
- Dean Douglas, president and CEO of the Peerless Pump Company
- Rich Heppe, president of fluid systems at Emerson Motors/U.S. Motors
- Sven Olsen, president of Leistritz Corporation
The HI corporate leadership team and Board of Directors are responsible for guiding the Institute’s strategic plans and direction. Key industry initiatives to be reviewed and advanced in the coming year include expanding Hi’s educational initiatives as well as enhancing global data collection and reporting for the industry.
