HI Announces Upcoming Pump Fundamentals Webinar on Rotodynamic Centrifugal Pumps

15.08.2014

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) has announced the date of the Fundamentals of Rotodynamic Centrifugal Pumps webinar. The August 28, 2014 session will begin at 1:00pm EDT and will be led by David Stover, Americas Turbine MDM, Applied Water Systems, Xylem, Inc.

David is the most recent addition to HI’s roster of experienced pump systems training instructors and is eager to share his extensive pump knowledge during this HI training session.

The one-hour webinar will provide participants with basic pump knowledge and help them become proficient in the critical components of centrifugal pumps to better understand the dynamics within pumping systems. The session is designed for non-technical audiences and entry level engineers; this new webinar program provides an in-depth review of all major components of centrifugal pumps and explains the critical theory behind the operation of pump technology.

The session will also cover the importance of pump curves, which leads to proper pump sizing, how NPSH has a direct impact on pump cavitation, affinity rules, how to calculate pump power as well as operating costs and how they impact savings. Participants walk away with an in-depth understanding of pumps relating to the overall pumping system and how they work together to provide greater bottom-line savings.

HI Education Director, Mark Sullivan, states that, “This training session is a must for those who need to understand basic pump operation and for those who need to brush up on their fundamental knowledge of pumps. This is one of our more popular courses because of the breadth of fundamental content included in the session.”

The webinar session fee is $99.00 for non-HI members and $74.25 for HI members. Advance registration is required. All registered participants receive one (1) Professional Development Hour (PDH) credit upon completion of the session.
