DESMI Strengthens Presence in Turkey with Dedicated Country Manager

DESMI A/S is pleased to announce an important strategic decision to establish an office in Turkey, highlighting the Turkish market as a key area for growth. This initiative is part of our commitment to strengthening our regional presence and enhancing the support we provide to our customers and partners in Turkey.

As the first step in this transition, DESMI A/S will directly manage the DESMI OceanGuard Ballast Water Treatment System (BWMS) business in Turkey. This strategic adjustment reflects our broader business priorities and does not impact our existing operations beyond BWMS.

Consequently, our representation of the DESMI OceanGuard BWMS through our distributor, DOP, will conclude on February 2, 2025. From that date forward, Kurtulus Acar will be your primary point of contact for all inquiries and communications related to BWMS here in Turkey.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to DOP for their excellent cooperation and valuable support over the past few years. Their efforts have been instrumental in serving the Turkish market. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue supporting our customers with local expertise and ensuring a seamless transition.

It is important to note that this change only pertains to our BWMS business. Our successful collaboration with NEMO, our distributor for pump solutions, will remain unchanged, and we look forward to continuing this great partnership.

ANDRITZ to Equip New Hydropower Plant in Turkey

The Turkish water authority Devlet Su İşleri (DSI) has selected international technology group ANDRITZ to supply the electro-mechanical equipment for the new 160 MW Silvan hydropower plant in Türkiye. The company will supply four 40 MW turbines, four generators, associated hydropower plant equipment, and a 154 kV switchyard system.
