Following the signing ceremony, Jose Larios said: “This contract further strengthens the strong partnership between our two companies. We are committed to supporting the continued safe operation of existing nuclear power plants, while supporting the energy transition through the application of innovative engineered flow control solutions.”
EDF DIPDE is responsible for engineering studies and upgrades of the nuclear islands of France's 56 existing reactors. Headquartered in Marseille, DIPDE employs over 2,000 people, ensuring the continuous improvement of France's nuclear power plants under the best possible safety conditions. The contract with Celeros FT relates to upgrades being deployed across all 900 MWe nuclear power plants in line with the requirements of the French nuclear safety authority ASN (Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire).
The replacement systems require nuclear pumps with superior technology that can meet demanding design conditions. Celeros FT brand ClydeUnion Pumps, which has a long and distinguished engineering pedigree, will design and manufacture the pumps for EDF at their nuclear accredited facility in Annecy.
