Lewa Sells Norwegian Subsidiary to Ellingsen Systems AS

Ammonia is currently at focus as clean alternative to heavy fuel oil that has predominantly been used. The technology employed in order to use liquid ammonia as a fuel must be hermetically tight and guarantee maximum operational safety as the gas is toxic and harmful to the environment. LEWA’s high-pressure diaphragm pumps meet these requirements. Their standard safety mechanisms make them suitable for hazardous, toxic and environmentally harmful fluids such as NH3, even under extreme operating conditions.

The demands on production systems for medically necessary oligonucleotides are high. Chemical resistance and biological integrity are just as important today as enormous flexibility in order to be able to synthesise a wide variety of drugs. With its special diaphragm metering pumps, LEWA GmbH guarantees compliance with these requirements even for critical mixing tasks and, in addition to standardised platform technologies, even provides customer-specific GMP-compliant systems.

Effective decarbonization of German industry – and with it, the achievement of the climate targets with a secure energy supply at the same time – is unthinkable without the expansion of hydrogen technologies. Since they are a carbon-free energy source, they do not release any emissions during combustion.

At this year’s Anuga FoodTec, pump manufacturer LEWA will be presenting its newly developed LEWA homogenizer test system, that can be used to test the aseptic functioning of a homogenizer based on a hygienic hermetic process diaphragm pump. Thanks to a homogenizing valve that is also hygienic, it can be flexibly adjusted to the requirements of different emulsions.

The City of Bremerton, Washington needed to build a system to bring its pH levels in line with the Lead and Copper laws, with the flexibility to compensate for a variety of water sources. Dealing with pH levels below neutral, the Engineering Division of Bremerton Public Works and Utilities had to provide a system for injecting caustic soda into the water main.

Pump manufacturer LEWA and its partner for digital product development generic.de were honored with this year’s Allianz Industrie 4.0 Award for their jointly developed Smart Monitoring IoT solution.
