Jan Lüder Takes Over the Management of Voith Hydro

Jan Lüder will be appointed President and CEO of Voith Hydro and member of the Corporate Board of Management of the Voith Group effective April 1, 2025. He succeeds Dr. Tobias Keitel, who will continue his career outside Voith.

Jan Lüder was most recently Division President Flow and member of the Executive Committee of Sulzer AG in Switzerland. Between 2015 and 2022, Jan Lüder held management positions at thyssenkrupp, including CEO of the Mining Technologies division and previously CEO Industrial Solutions Asia Pacific and CEO Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. From 1995 to 2015, he worked for Siemens AG for almost 20 years in the Metals Technologies, Industrial Solutions and Power Generation divisions with international management functions in Asia (China, Malaysia) and Europe (Germany, Finland, Austria). Jan Lüder holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Berlin (Germany).

Voith Equips 2 GW Hydropower Plant in Angola

Technology group Voith is set to supply equipment for the large-scale hydropower plant Caculo Cabaça in Angola, West Africa. The order comprises all electrical and mechanical equipment, including the installation of four Francis turbines with an output of 530 MW each, an additional Francis turbine with an output of 52 MW, generators, control and auxiliary systems and a customized training concept.

Voith Hydro Wins Order to Expand Kruonis Pumped Storage Plant in Lithuania

To make the country less dependent on energy imports, Lithuania is aiming to systematically expand its renewable energy sources – especially solar and wind power. To offset the volatility of these energy sources, the partially state-owned Ignitis Group company Ignitis Gamyba is investing around EUR 150 million in the expansion of the Kruonis pumped storage hydropower facility, where an additional, fifth unit will be installed.
