The first-ever Pump Summit Americas conference and exhibition, held on June 13th and 14th, 2016 has concluded. Running alongside the Fugitive Emissions Summit Americas conference, with a shared exhibition, there were a total of 1,199 registered attendees for the 2-day event.

The DVGW (Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfachs), the German gas and water engineers association, is to be a new partner of IFAT. The World’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management takes place from May 30 to June 3, 2016 at the Messe München exhibition center in Munich.

Countries like the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and – after the relaxation of political tensions – Iran plan large investments for the development of alternative energy use. In the fall of 2016, in both countries trade fairs will be held on the subject of water, wastewater, energy and the environment – ideal platforms to make the right contacts and to take part locally in the development of new infrastructure projects.

50 years of IFAT, a success story that started out in 1966 with 147 exhibitors and 10,200 visitors and is continuing seamlessly today in 2016. Around 138,000 visitors from over 170 countries came to Munich for the anniversary edition of IFAT between May 30 and June 3, 2016.

The signs pointed to storms ahead, but AchemAsia travelled the rough economic seas safely: When the halls closed on Thursday, exhibitors and organizers left with a smile. 11,834 visitors found their way to China’s most international exhibition for the process industries, only slightly less than in 2013 when 12,470 were counted. This is especially remarkable because in the run-up to the event the number of exhibitors had dropped significantly, with especially Western firms hesitant about their current China engagement.

It is commonplace these days across many industries for companies to have radically streamlined their maintenance and technical workforce. This puts increased pressure on company managers to use non-electrical personnel for routine electrical duties.

More than 155,000 industry professionals. 8 per cent rise in international visitor figures compared to 2014 accounting for 25.2 per cent of the total number of overseas trade visitors (up 2.0 %).

IFAT, which takes place from May 30 to June 3, 2016 at the Messe München exhibition center, is celebrating its 50th birthday. It started out back in 1966, as the “International Trade Fair for Sewage Technology”. Taking part in that premiere were 147 exhibitors from nine countries, and 10,200 visitors from 40 countries—and the exhibition space was 18,000 square meters.
